Ok, so I was in Puerto Plata awhile ago and got stopped by AMET. Didn't have my licence with me (in my other purse) and the car I had borrowed didn't have an up to date revista. So I got dinged for both. My question is "where do I pay these"? Do I have to do it in Puerto Plata, or is there some place in Sosua/Cabarete that they can be paid? Also, any idea of what the fine amount is?
Ban Reservas is the place to pay the fines. Paid $1000RD for each offence. And there was no info on the "invoice" as to where to pay it, at least I couldn't find it. Anyway, all paid up! Now I keep a copy of my license in EVERY purse and won't borrow a car again until I see ALL stickers in place. Ahhh, live and learn. Good thing I don't get all bent outta shape about things!
That's the way to do it. I always have laminated colour copies of my 'residencia, cedula, licencia de conducir' on me. Not of the shotgun permit though... very rarely I take that along with me.....
